A labor union advocating for the rights of martial adventurers, a group who are far more frequently disadvantaged when compared to their caster peers. The union has been doing all it can to improve the lot of martials, something that has earned it condemnation and celebration in equal amounts. Led by Jalil, a psychic warrior who's been here since the first ever expedition.
As the name suggests, the Martial Union requires that its members be “sufficiently Martial”. What exactly this means has been open to quite a bit of debate in the past, but sufficient precedent has been established at this point to have a somewhat useful definition:
To minimize friction and arguments, the usage of these terms should be mentioned during the expedition organizing phase of an adventure, either when posting an expedition you create yourself, or when agreeing to join an expedition someone else has posted. If they are not mentioned in this phase, the expedition leader and/or quartermaster have every right to refuse Martial Union Terms.
1) On any expedition with Martial Union members present, regardless of number, a “fee” equal to 5% of the net profits of the expedition will be added to Martial Union coffers, but this does not actually deduct from the loot taken on the expedition itself. Net profits are defined as all of the loot, including magic items (valued at 50% market rate), minus any costs associated with the expedition such as rations, resurrections, identification spells, etc. This step occurs before the “first pick” clause below, and as such, any reduction in net profits from that procedure is not taken into account when determining the fee. When a fee is collected, please make a message in this channel, and ping the union leader with the amount collected.
2) When distributing loot after an expedition, each Martial Union member on an adventure is given first pick of one piece of equipment (magical or otherwise) that they plan to use. Typically, this will be magic weapons or armor. Additionally, this first pick is treated as worth only 25% of base price as opposed to the usual 50% for purposes of determining loot shares.

A sanctioned series of non-lethal fights held by the Martial Union to determine who is the greatest martial combatant in Barrow's Maw. Entry was limited to adventurers deemed “sufficiently martial” by the Union. Casting of spells and magic item usage is limited by tournament rules.

Triggered by Ursumea's retirement. Jalil defeated Ash in the final round of the second Martial Union Tournament to secure leadership of the Martial Union, though both were first defeated by Ursumea.
This tournament was held to celebrate the construction of the Martial Union's new colosseum, a rather grand upgrade from the old dirt circle out back of the Union Hall.
